Facial expressions, dynamic timing, and exaggeration should be added to make the action visually engaging. Different shot framings are required, and we can incorporate free 3D props or backgrounds to enhance the scene. Lighting must be set up appropriately, and the animation should be rendered at 24fps with a resolution of 1280 x 720. The final submission includes storyboards and a video compilation showing the progression from blocking, through polishing, to the finished animation. For this particular assignment we should first gath...

Advanced Animation (Project 1_Walk Cycle)

First, we searched for reference images and videos of both original and pose-based walks, then recreated the walking pose. By observing the references, we identified the key extreme poses such as contact, down, pass, and up. We were then instructed to animate two types of walk cycles: the vanilla walk and the attitude walk. A vanilla walk cycle is a natural and standard walk where the character moves normally without any added emotion or style. In comparison, the attitude walk adds personality and emotion to the movement, making th...

For this particular assignment, the lecturer’s guidance and patient instruction greatly deepened my understanding of this section, though...

Plan and record all dialogue, then design a fitting soundscape with background ambience and sound effects to enhance the storytelling. Use audio editing software to mix everything into a smooth, immersive experience, as if it were a radio show. The story I have chosen is "Onward", a Disney and Pixar animated film. The story is about two elf brothers who go on a magical quest to bring back their deceased father for one day using a special spell. I plan to create a short storytelling segment. This is the outline I’ve written, a...

All audio had to be created independently, without using pre-existing or third-party sound sources.  I decided to work with Hollow Knight because its visual style and overall tone appealed to me creatively. Since I’ve played the game before, I already had a rough idea of how its world should sound, which helped guide my approach.  However, since I played the game a long time ago and couldn’t clearly remember how it sounded, I referred to a few gameplay videos to refresh my memory and get a better sense of the game's audio ...
