REFLECTION
Experience
The creation of this motion graphics project, inspired by the iconic dialogue from Kung Fu Panda, was both a challenging and rewarding process. The project began with a storyboard and audio selection, setting the foundation for the animation's flow and mood. Each scene, from the playful noodles transitioning into waves to the blooming flower revealing a gift, had to be well-planned and executed. Experimenting with effects like bouncing letters, liquid transitions, and raindrop animations allowed me to refine my skills in After Effects and Illustrator. Each step, from crafting precise motion paths to synchronizing captions with music, was a lesson in balancing creativity with technical precision.
Observation
This project really nailed it-home about simplicity and clarity in design. A mustard-yellow palette, subtle orange, and pink accents kept the visuals cohesive and engaging. It was a great insight to see how small adjustments, such as modifying speed curves or layering opacity, could enhance fluidity and natural motion so much. Taking inspiration from Instagram and YouTube tutorials, it shows how accessible ideas can morph into unique transitions, like bouncing words or flowers growing. Every design decision had to be informed by the storytelling to show that even the minute details count in the shiny finished product.
Findings
The project further reinforced the important role of storytelling in animation. Smooth transitions, synchronized captions, and well-thought-out scene compositions amplified the narrative to a whole new level, proving how motion graphics could engage an audience. Adaptability was also important: changing initial ideas, such as the noodle wave and liquid transitions, made it possible to achieve the perfect flow. Further, incorporating third-party elements, like green-screen assets, allowed demonstrating how external resources can be combined with original designs. Ultimately, this underlined how important attention to detail and readiness to try something new is in making interesting animations.
Acknowledgment
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to my lecturer, Mr. Fauzi, for his guidance and encouragement throughout this project. His feedback and insights were invaluable in helping me refine my work and push my creative boundaries. Thank you for inspiring me to deliver my best effort in this motion graphics project.
